Renewable Energy Based Power Generation - 1855 Words

Background The growing concern about the impact of CO2 and the anxiety on the effect of using fossil fuels based power generation technology on the environment, in recent years, has made the researchers to focusing on the renewable energy based clean power generation techniques to secure the environment from carbon effect. Among the development of renewable energy based power generation techniques, the solar power generation has a major role in clean power generation. The sunlight is free of cost and everlasting energy sources, but the drawback of this method is that generation of electricity is only possible during the sunshine. In PV system, the DC-DC power converters are used to change the output voltage from one level to another level [25-27]. Typically, the DC-DC converter is connected between the panel and the load, sequentially to extract the available power from the panel using tracking methods. In this work, Boost converters and Super lift boost converters [1] are used to extract the maximum power from the panel and two converters diagram is shown in Figure 1a and Figure 1b respectively. Figure1a. Circuit diagram of Boost converter. The Boost converter is a switch mode DC to DC converter in which the output voltage is greater than the input voltage. It is also called as step up converter. The name step up converter comes from the fact that analogous to step up transformer the input voltage is stepped up to a level greater than the input voltage. Integration of distributed energy resources (DERs) in low voltage system will play an important role in fulfilling the target. In order to accommodate DERs, the structure and control strategies of the modern power systems is moving from traditional centralised generation and control structure to localized generation and control and coordination [1]. However, it possesses a variety ofRead MoreRenewable Resources For Renewable Energy1438 Words   |  6 Pagesdefinition, energy is power that is harnessed from physical or chemical resources, often utilized in order to produced light, heat or fuel. It can be extracted from various renewable or non-renewable sources and has become a necessity for day to day life. Currently non-reusable resources account for the majority of energy production. The prominence of fossil fuels in the energy sector validates this claim. At the same time this statement reveals a major world issue in regards to energy sustainabilityRead MoreThe Invention Of The Industrial Revolution1204 Words   |  5 PagesIndustrial Revolution took place during the 18th and 19th centuries. During this time mankind made the switch from hand-made to machine-made production methods. The steam engine, later replaced by the internal combustion engine, made this possible. The power source of these machines is burning fossil fuels, such as crude oil, natural gas, and coal. When fossil fuels are burnt, gases like carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and halocarbons are released. These are known as greenhouse gases. Greenhouse
